"a person who is attempting to lose weight by not eating may lose weight in muscle first before fat" how does that happen? well, the body likes to go for carbs (glucose) for energy first if that. Lose weight or muscle first. Lose weight or try to build muscle first? i'm male, 24, slightly overweight (174 lbs/79 kg and 175m/57 ft) and though i have an active lifestyle, my body is not looking great-even when i was lighter, i was what you'd call "skinny fat".
lose weight or muscle first
Lose weight first!”? answer a): “i’m reasonably (or very) lean” unless your current goal is to become even leaner, it’s the right time to begin bulking, with the goal of putting on muscle mass. If you are truly 20%, then you should focus on fat loss first. but at 6’4 175lbs, i dunno if you’re actually 20%. but regardless, assuming you’re a beginner you’ll be able to build muscle and lose fat at the same time. details here.. You want an extra 5 to 10 pounds of new muscle. but you’re also overweight and need to lose fat. is it better to focus on losing fat or building muscle first? if you’re an overweight beginner, losing fat and building muscle aren’t mutually exclusive. with the right type of diet and training program, you can do both at the same time..
